I'm doing it with four mates. Driving down from Essex, leaving at 05:30.

We did it a couple of years ago and it was bloody hot then too. I got a bit dehydrated on one section and spent the rest of the ride trying to get enough liquid back in. Still enjoyed the ride though.

Have a good one.

It was great! I'm a Kingley Vale local, so I knew the western side of the course, but the rest of it was all new to me... and I think I'll be back for some more of that. The last rooty descent back into Slindon was great fun. It was VERY hot though!

I did the Trail Break Lemming Trail yesterday, just did the first day as couldn't get enough brownie points for the whole weekend but it was excellent. So nice to be riding the SDW without mud at last. The section I did was between Winchester and Toddington.

Great course today ,fantastic in the dry - i took the Standard route as i did not train and felt the heat - managed just under 5 hours? SDW is brutal on the climbs ? Very friendly cyclist today ? Fontwell is a great start point .

I did the Epic route with 4 mates. A great route with some very testing climbs and brilliant descents, especially the last one.

Bloody hot though, I think I drank about 5 litres of energy drink on the ride plus at least another couple of litres post ride.

Crossing the bean field was surreal though!

Highly recommended.

Loved it !! Only one puncture but a flint ripped through rear brake hose so only had front brake for 30 miles !!
Still managed to go flat out down hill though , just squeaked a lot .
