I think this site used to be maintained by Rory at USE who is no with USE. Anyone know if this site is still maintained and kept up to date?
The last person who did the double was October 2010 according to the site.
Neil Newell used to be heavily involved on this and I've seen him on here as Hazeii.
I know someone else who finally did the double two weeks ago, which ain't too shabby as he'd also come 18th in the ESCA 24 hour time trial at the end of June 😯 8) Two completely different 24 hours events inside 3 weeks definitely needs a mention!
I'm told Rory's now at Upgrade Bikes though don't know if he's still involved in the local MTBing scene.

Been thinking of doing the double attempt for a while. I'm going to attempt a sub 12 hour one way on singlespeed in August as training for Kielder 100. Depending on how I get on I may consider the double for next year in April.

After a mud fest of a ride last Thursday night I thought it was going to be pretty bad on the sdw on Sunday but it's dried out really well - hope you have a dry week in the run up to your ride - good luck.

I almost did it one way on Saturday, bailed out at Jevington and took to the road as I didn't fancy the last descent in the dark, took me 15 hours!

Some parts of the trail were pretty slippy but for the most part was in fairly good condition

Rory's still involved locally and will be uber busy sorting the Big Dog which is next month IIRC. Oh, yes he's at upgrade. Pivot and Leyzene (sp?) IIRC.
