are you sick to the back teeth hearing about englands win in 1966?
yes or no will suffice.
No.
Would be useful if the anti football pseuds declared their ignorance - in the interest of balance.
🙂
indeed
sorry
YES!
No, no one has ever spoken to me about it, and I can live with a 5 second newsreel that I see perhaps once a year.
If Scotland had ever won the World Cup, I'd want to revel in it for years too tbf. Doesn't bother me.
No
No.
yes or no
No
Yes, and then the usual one world cup and two world wars.
Can't we all just be friendly about it rather than the usual tribal drag up the past and continue the hatred.
Is there some kind of foot the ball over paid over monied sport international even where normal non fitba types become raving lunatic planned this summer? (should stadiums be finished and/or fans not immediatly be mugged/kidnapped when stepping off the plane)
No, helps identify idiots.
No, helps identify idiots.
As does not being able to follow simples instructions.
yes or no will suffice.
Yes
Jamie, I see that as more of a serving suggestion. 🙂
NO
They should mention that ONE solitary final and win more often and never ever think about penalties and however many years of heartbreak it has been since.
Jamie - That is brief for me 8)
Yes
Nah, I find all sport pretty entertaining. Football is no exception - I'm looking forward to the world cup.
No
No.
Everyone likes to go on about their country's greatest WC moments. Archie Gemmill, anyone? Actually winning it at some point puts you in a fairly select club.
In reality, people don't actually go on about it that much do they? Who really talks about it?
Genuinely can't remember the last time World Cup 1966 was mentioned to me, or shown to me on TV or broadcast to me on the radio.
So, no.
Yeeees.
But then I'm looking forward to the WC, but I'm not a fatballerist.
So a bit conflicted, I'm punting Germany FTW.
I'm waiting for the 50th anniversary national holiday and street parties in a couple of years time.
They'll nicely coincide with my 50th birthday too 🙂

(It has been all over the meedja recently, including the BBC online sport doing a text minute by minute rerun of the final and various tellybox programmes about it also.)
But I'm still a "no" 🙂
Yes.
**Has virtually no interest in football, whatso-eva**
Rugby, is another matter though.
**Likes watching Rugby**
Had enough of the '50 most amazing goals/saves/teams/games/fans/stadiums/cock-ups' program's on the telly already, I really hope the England team fail to get out of the group and the World Cup fizzles out so there's less noise and less broken glass on the streets. Living in london I'm glad Poland didn't make the final so less tyske beer cans left on my front wall, stockwell is far enough away that I will not affected by a Portuguese win.
Not looked at the group but I fully expect a few restaurants to be attacked by irate England fans when they lose, football seems to attract those that have not benefited much from the state education system.
The 1966 world cup movie on BBC2 last weekend was great. Some colour footage I'd never seen before. Watched it with my son and he was engrossed. "What year was this Dad?" "1970", I think" (missed the beginning)...
"Ah, no it's 1966".
"Who won that year Dad?"
😀
(not sure if this answers the OP's question)

Yeah, I watched the same film. Some great, new (to me) footage.
Interesting to see how many of the fouls/tackles went unpunished in those days (inc the Jackie Charlton handball which resulted in a pen but no action against the player)

Exactly what I was saying! 🙂
