Any recommendations, fed up fannying about with track pumps.

I'm sure the Lifeline one was £50 not long ago. It's £70 now..

I was having an unusual amount of grief getting Schwalbe Pro Ones seating on some road rims.
Enter the mighty Trek Bontrager Flashcharger and my problems went away. Works far better than I expected.

I have just got my Airshot through and seated my Sonder with it. Worked really well with my track pump, plus cheaper than buying a specific tubeless track pump.

I wondered about these ancillary air tubes.

Another vote for the airshot canister, used it lots of times as i like switching tyres, works like a dream.

It does help that i managed to get it on offer ages ago for about £35 but i wouldn't mind paying full price for it to be honest.

also on an airshot, not had any problems with it but not as convenient I guess as the integrated pumps

I got an integrated pump after selling an Airshot and the integrated pump broke after trying to seat a very tricky tyre. Pump got very hot and something has gone inside as when pushing down there is constant resistance. Have now bought another airshot type thing as nothing to go wrong...

The Bontrager one works for me. Bought one soon after it came out and have had zero issues with it. Just works. The only downside is that if you're using it as a conventional track pump, it's not quite so good as you're always pressurising both the reservoir on the pump and the tyre itself. A really clever pump would let you take the reservoir temporarily out of the system, but I don't know if one exists.

I've got one of the Milkit inflators - with the upgraded 'safer' valve, i.e. it won't pop out and blind you like the original recalled ones!

Relatively cheap at about £30 (or was when I bought it), happily seats 29+ tyres, and as a bonus you get a nice metal water flask.

Just looked for a new tyre and ended up on cycles uk. If you buy a tyre you can get a half price pump.

I bought an xr2  tyre for £31 and could therefore buy a Bontrager flash charger for £50.

Happy days.

I have a Lifeline one, it hasn't failed to seat a tyre yet but I did have to pull it apart once as it was leaking and it's got quite a wobbly shaft so it's not great to use as a normal pump.

I'd probably get an airshot next time and use it with my Topeak joeblow

+1 for Airshot. £39ish from Tredz (if you get the obligatory £5 off voucher by clearing your cookies)!

Home made coke bottle airshot here £2. Used it for the last couple of years. Brilliant.

Same here. Mines about 8yrs old now! Keep meaning to change the bottle but cba. I do keep it in the trouser leg of some old jeans just in case it explodes though.

Keep meaning to make one out of a fire extinguisher but can never seem to find a small empty one and buying a new one to empty seems daft and not that much cheaper than a Milkit

I'm in the market for a tubeless inflator and track pump, would rather have a combined device but most of the options seem flawed.

Blackburn chamber - the head doesn't grip valves with no valve core in, so pretty worthless for setting up tubeless tyres

Lezyne digital pressure over driver - like the idea of a digital track pump, no faffing with a seperate gauge, however the abs1-pro chuck they now come with doesn't let you bleed air on the presta valve, so if you over-inflate by 5psi, there's no way of removing air... meaning there's no point in having an accurate pressure gauge!! Also, not many places in stock.

Got a track pump already? Beto inflater then ( https://www.merlincycles.com/beto-cja-001s-tubeless-air-tank-inflator-98943.html). IMO its way better than an airshot, based on using one of each on the same wheel and tyre back to back, the airshot failed to get the tyre seated, the beto worked. The beto also stands nicely on the floor.

I've got Beto Tubeless Air Tank, shop around, I think I paid £36 for it a while back. Never had any problems with it, not as fun as using the pop bottle though!

Edit, what Nixie says!

If by fun you mean those horrible noises and the 'will it, won't it' explode thoughts!

Hmm, that does look like a decent bit of kit - would need a new tack pump too though - there's a few digital versions about.

If by fun you mean those horrible noises and the ‘will it, won’t it’ explode thoughts!

That puts me off using a glorified metal water bottle, let alone a plastic pop bottle!

I have the specialized air tool blast that the bloke in Edinburgh sold to me (first time someone in a shop has actually persauded me straight up to buy something) when i was getting some winter tyres and imagining how much grief I would get if I had sprayed tubeless sealant all over my girlfriends' newly decorated front room.

It's about twice the volume of an airshot, and frankly bigger than anything else i've seen. I'm pretty sure if/when it explodes, it will take my house with it. It replaced a coke bottle inflator I built (and did fair duty for about 5 years wrapped in gorilla tape, but in the end the tiny hoses failed before it did). On that, if you build it properly the only thing that will get damaged are your ears - they are rated to about 130psi when new, and good for 100psi when old. Wrap it to prevent splinters like shatterproof glass.

Anyway. It's not portable like an airshot, but you can actually inflate it without wanting to kill yourself (bigger chamber). This is the same problem the integrated ones have, as well as now meaning if you want to take your track pump somewhere you have to lug a 10kg track pump.

Honestly if you own a house and ride from home a lot I would get one of the big free standing ones. Whichever one is cheapest. That bet one looks so similar to my specialized I'd warrant it's from the same factory. Not as bling tho.

Does the Beto air tank head work properly on presta valves with the core removed?

Looking at the Beto air tank and the JoeBlow Digital Pro pump, £100 for both which is the same as a decent combined tubeless pump.
