Apologies...considering purchasing a stumpjumper 15 alloy but am unusually between sizes - 6.2/3 which is the very top end of the XL and the very low end of the XXL.

Ideally I'd try both out and purchase in store but the nearest stockist to me is bike shed in Exeter but they don't have any in stock (they don't have hardly any non ebike full sussers, but that's a different story) hence asking for opinions or others in a similar situation and how they have sized up?

The Spec websites just say size up for planted feel and down for messing around. The XL guide starts at 5.10 which suggests that the XXL may be a better bet.

If you can't find a Stumpy to sit on, try a Levo - will be the same

Specialized sizing is supposed to allow some flexibility on sizing based on user preference i.e. size up for stability, size down for playfulness. That's why they refer to sizes S1 to S6 rather than S, M, L etc.

I'm 6ft 1 and have the previous generation Stumpjumper in a size S5. I tried the S4 but it felt too twitchy for my liking.

I'm 6' and on an S5 Stumpy 15.

Tried an S4 and I could have maybe got away with it but I like the S5 much better.

No surprise really as I also own an S5 Levo.

I'm 6ft1 on an S5 Stumpy evo. Recently moved from 40 to 50 mm stem to free up room which i much prefer. I'm very happy with the sizing but i think if I was any taller I'd probably go to the next size up and drop to a 35/40mm stem. The only exception may be if you mostly ride tight trails where you'd appreciate the shorter wheelbase.

Not quite as tall as you, 6ft and I ride an S4 stumpy, its my xc bike, so wanted something that was more for the twistier/flatter stuff.

Have borrowed an S4 levo sl, would definitely consider going up to the S5 for steeper/faster stuff, also gets you a longer chainstay as well.

What are you currently riding currently?

I'm 6'2" and on a stumpy 15, S5. Standard stem and the saddle pushed forward a little.

Normal riding is the tweed valley and trips to Highlands/lakes.

The S6 is fricking huge even if it's just going to be a distance/easy trails bike and for that use case an epic Evo would be far more suited.

Have you tried Hot Pursuit? May be worth giving them a call.
