I hope you can help a roadie sort out a new mtg for his son.
The fork is brand new and will not hold air.
Proper shock pump but forks looses pressure over about half an hour.

I have read a lot about valve cores leaking. Is this most likely cause?
Should I under the nut at the top (marked preload) or the much smaller nut which appears to be holding the valve in place?
Its a mail order and Id like to get sorted asap.
Thanks
the valve core is the bit in the middle of the valve and requires a special tool to reach in

Halfords sell them as well iirc
you could easily tighten that IMHO
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES PUT TOOL MARKS ON A BRAND NEW NON WORKING FORK
If you are certain they leak just return them IMHO rather than risk warranty and have some FUBBARED forks due to your fiddling
If you want to mail me I can get you info on the forks and help but it is ill advised IMHO as they may blame your tinkering for the break.
An easy way to check if the fork is leaking....this is going to sound bad.
Fill the valve with spit. If there is a leak it will bubble. If there is no air coming out you can eliminate that as an issue and it is a lot easier than putting the fork under water. Easier to clean up too.
Well that's what I would do anyway...if you are looking for the leak that is.
HTH...a bit
Thanks for that advice, especially junkyard.
You are probably right, leave well alone.
