My Dad is now 80, and unfortunately 2 years ago had heart issues and last week ended up in hospital with arrhythmia. Hi owns the bike below and also an Orbea Ebike. I think he has now realised that he needs to sell the Cannondale and has asked me to do so.

The only bikes I have sold in the last 10 years have been kids bikes, and the market is quite stable and prices easy to judge, Ive sold 3 on Facebook.

This is quite a unique nice bike in many ways so I have no idea where to list or what as, and what value? It is absolutely mint condition though.

From my Dad

The bike is Cannondale Quick Carbon 2 Disc. Shimano Sora.
Bought in January 2017 £1400. No idea about price to ask, have tried to find examples online and got nowhere.
Seems sensible to try to sell

Completed listings on ebay imply £300-500 depending on model, the 2 being up the higher end, or so.

I hear stealth ads work well 😉

Honestly, with the market at the moment I'd stick that up for £1200 on a few places and see who bites. Decent bikes are literally selling straight away right now, you can always drop the price if no one is interested.

Edit: maybe a bit less than £1200, but start high.

That honestly isnt my thought! I wouldnt list on the classifieds here anyhow as no one appears to know how to use it (certainly I have had zero interest) when stuff has sold instantly on FaceBook

Is ebay still worth listing or is there an alternate place? Last time I sold a bike there about 15 yrs ago the fees were about £150 and the process was painful being messed around by people

If you put it on ebay wait till they are doing a £1 final fee offer. Seem to come round quite frequently.

Looks to be in v.nice condition so as above. Ebay, wait for £1 listing offer and price high but take offers and see who bites (unless you're in a rush obvs).

As you've mostly committed to the stealth ad, could you add gearing, size and location info (wondering if my mrs might like it......)

If it's any use, a couple of weeks back I sold an immaculate 2014 Spesh hybrid type thing for an ageing neighbour. RRP was 1200, basically never ridden.

I listed it on Facebook and it sold in a day (collection only) for £500 cash. No fees no hassle. He was well happy with that.

If you want a quick sale I'd try similar. If you want best buck then eBay and offer delivery. I've got a bike on there now and it looks like I might make a profit!

I'd reckon (it looks in decent nick) at least 650-700 for that. £1 listing day, job jobbed. Just watch out for overseas bidders.

eBay, wait for a £1 Final Value Fee offer, and offer shipping @ £45 - I think you'd be unlucky to get less than £900 for that in the current climate, maybe over £1k.

FB marketplace...

Clean it up (though looks clean)
Decent photos
Write a good spec list
Collection only
List it for £850 and I reckon it'll sell pretty sharpish

DrP

(Oh..be prepared for absolute MUPPETS messaging you..."wud you swop for some gim waits and a drum kit.."??)

Just watch out for fake bank notes when selling on FB market place. Quite a lot of stories locally of and I quote "traveller type" people passing fake notes.

expect the thousand "is this still available?" messages, yes it is...... silence 🙄
