We are supposed to be driving up tomorrow afternoon for the weekend. Any update on conditions after snowmageddon (!!) would be greatly appreciated. 7 stanes website trail updates are from the 23rd. If its awful it maybe not be worth the 3 hour drive; but it equally a bit of slidey snowy fun never goes amiss!

lot of snow in Dumfries area last night and this morning. Apparently even the local trails under the trees are pretty snowy so main trails will be too. Its thawed a bit this afternoon and tomorrow is meant to be clear so things should improve. Forecast is cold though so ice is very probable.
i'm off tomorrow and was meant to be biking - just cant decide where is going to be suitable. Like to go to ambleside

Thanks willv and somafunk. Sounds like a call in the morning is a good idea.

Mabie is likely to have less snow but the car park can become dangerous and FC may close it. There are alternative parking places but may be compromised by the snow!

Mabie car park this morning, not much space! Wouldn't be tempted to go down the hill to access the top park, currently too icy @ -1 currently with a breeze getting up. Car was frozen at 4am but defrosted by 6.30am(I was night shift btw)
Trails could probably be described as difficult to ride but fun 😆 in a typical mtb way.....

Wow...Thanks Trekster. Gives us a very good idea of what we would be heading too. Had a similar weekend at Glentress once and it was quite good fun but we could at least get into the car park!

Anyone tried the trails this morning? Tbh think we are going to head over regardless. It's been a naff week so a snowy giggle would be good.
