@oscillatewildly - i got the slim pullover https://www.haloheadbanduk.com/product/halo-slim-headband/
worked very well

most effective tactic is to remove your glasses on climbs and stick them in your helmet vents pro roadie style. At low speeds on MTB climbs insect collisions are far less of an issue

Unless you're shortsighted like me and like/need to see obstacles ahead. So the most effective tactic now is to use the halo on every ride.

As a big sweater I'm very interested in the Halo feedback here.

How many of you are trying Halo after a "standard" headband (as oppose to going from nothing at all to a Halo)? And is the Halo significantly better?

I already use one of these, or one of several Pearl Izumi equivalents:

Thanks @susepic just ordered one no idea how I didn’t spot it, has it still got the rubber sweat bit on it like the normal sized ones? Can’t see any inside pics of the slim version

@molgrips fair enough, but worth trying a halo tho, i hate wiping sweat out of me eyes, off me glasses or taking glasses off, cos I'll drop them, scratch em, or won't have a dry wipe to clean them properly. Halo bit of a revelation yesterday i have to say (tho my son did laugh at me when i took my helmet off at the coffee stop and was just left with the halo on)

@susepic thank you your a star it looks spot on, May look a bit daft but I never take helmet off till after ride so no issues I’d give anything to not have sweat dripping in my sunglasses every single ride

Never had my in-box so popular before I clicked on 'Notify me of follow up replies' to this thread 🤣

Also can't believe I've not searched these sweat band things out before. Went out without my new Halo yesterday as I didn't think I'd need it, being about 15 degrees.

Within 15 minutes I had to stop as sweat was getting in my eyes. Maybe it's something I just coped with almost instinctively before but, think I'll have the Halo on every ride from now.

Also fancy looking at the sweat gutter thing mentioned in this thread but, it does seem a bit OTT. (Not the comedy one mentioned very early on)

Did a bit of googling and the OP wasn't comparing like with like.

Julian Alaphillip won a tour stage on a stock £10,000 bike. I think the bikes, as ridden, at a world cup XCO or downhill is under £20,000? These are the top end of MTB

So I googled top end moto GP costs

https://www.boxrepsol.com/en/motogp-en/how-much-does-motogp-cost/

Engines are 200,000 euros plus. Front brake are limuted to 70,000 euros

Ironically looks like top end MTB benefits from scale of production more than top end motor bikes

hilarious response 🙂 I think it is completely fair to compare a halo headband with a Moto GP bike

I'll update as well, as have bene using Halo (now have 2, redundancy and that) on every ride. What a difference. will never use without now. I've got a pair of the ones that are narrower at the back.

The sweat channel thing really works, as I do find that the back of the headband is way more wet than the front.

Superb. Thanks all for the input.

Been running the Halo on the MTB and Road bike for the last month and it struggles to last more than 15 miles before i have to stop and wring it out (which is very frustrating on the road bike as i dont like to stop often)

Had a Sweat GutR before which i had for years but it was lost in a house move, will be ordering a new Sweat GutR this week and the Halo will be kept as back up in case the GutR gets lost again!

Inspired by this thread I’ve just ordered a halo. They must have got a lot of cash from us forumites! STW should get commission. Hope it works for me.
