I can't seem to post in the wanted ad's anymore. I'm looking for a Sonder Signal Ti in Large or XL (please Pm or text: 07941418756).

Can we see some pics of Singal Ti builds that you have done ? I have a 130mm reba and an SLX drive chain (34t x 11/46) to put on currently. Any parts that you would avoid putting on a large singal ? reviews always say the stock Sonder wheels are heavy and a little clumsy. Going to run a 2.3inch tyre mainly.

There's a new bike thread on this site from a few days ago with quite a few photos. I would post pictures of mine if I could figure out how to.
Loads of space for wide tyres, I am running 2.4 inch tyres with plenty of space to spare.

Have you ridden one? I borrowed a large form their Ambleside store. Great bike, large was spot on for me (I'm 5'10").

If you're going to fit a 130mm fork then have you considered the Kingdom Vendetta X2 LE which is on offer?

They're great frames and quite a saving from new vs the Signal.

6:2ft (189cm)

I'd say that puts you on XL?

ummm... I am a bit stuck as it puts me bang inbetween the two sizes on Sonders website. I was heading more towards a large as I like frames a little smaller and nimble. Looks like the frame is pretty long in all the photos online.

I'm 6'2" and was looking at the XL. Will probably wait and demo one after lockdown.

I am 189cmm too and went for the XL. I absolutely do not regret this at all, it is not long by the latest standards - and all the better for it as I have other bikes for the LLS thing.

FIRMLY on the XL... Large will feel like a kids bike underneath you!

6'1 on an xl. Definitely get an xl.

You might be waiting a long time for a second hand one to come up. Perhaps when they sell the next lot of ex-demo bikes they will have a bargain going. Or just get a large Solaris which has very similar geo/weight. Or have a look at the kingdom as suggested above.

Hi Davros, I'm going to order a complete bike in XL. I agree finding an XL frame would take ages, they rarely crop up.

Sonder offer the option of changing out a few parts during their build. I would be ordering the lower end one at £1,700, any items you would change when they build the bike up ? Are the stock wheels really bad/heavy ?

I've got a large Signal Ti and I'm 6ft.

The Love Mud wheels are fine. I've done over a thousand miles on mine on all sorts of stuff and they are running true still.

You've been mulling a while, so I don't know how close you are to actually buying, but I'd certainly wait until Friday. Alpkit have done 15% off discounts on bank holiday weekends before...

One possible upgrade route would be to see if they can ship without wheels and get e.g. Hunts separately - Hunts are not perfect, but hard to beat for the price, and will certainly be nicer and lighter than the stock wheels.

Their wheels might be pretty low cost and low margin, especially as part of the £1700 build, so they might not be able to offer you much of a discount.

Agree with the others on sizing. I'm 5' 10.5", I bought Medium because I wanted nimble like you, but kept thinking I should probably have got the large. Too much time spent feeling like I was too far over the front or off the back, too little time comfortable in the middle.

I discovered an alignment issue in the frame, they swapped it, and were happy to give me a large instead. It felt natural straight away, never thought once I should have stuck with medium.

Just to add - if you needed it - I would go XL. I'm about the same height and run a 150mm dropper in mine.

I have a custom Signal and increased the reach of the XL to 500mm, added clearance to run 3'' 29er tyres on 50mm rims with adjustable dropouts:

Hi Nedrapier - That's a good shout about the bank holiday. Yes I have been mulling this for quite a while, looks a sweet bike.

"letmetalktomark" - So they extended the frame dimesions by 500mm ? looks pretty long in the photos, but also a dam nice looking bike 🙂 .

Only thing that struck me as a little off is Sonder report the X.large as being 13.9kg built weight, that's not as light as I imagined for a Ti frame. I assume a lot of that is the wheels and beefy 2.6inch tyres.

My xl frame weighed 2.3kgs. So it will all depend on components. If you're drawn to it due to ti= lightweight, you may be disappointed. A large cotic solaris is quoted as 2.22kgs. But it costs £600 less if buying frame only! That difference would buy you some very nice wheels and light components. Something to consider if you would be changing parts from a cheaper full build.
