Anyone own or ridden the Sonder Frontier ? At £250 for the frame only I'm considering building it up for a general cross country and do a bit of everything bike. I read on here a while ago someone mention the boost spacing was strange/not quite correct on the Sonder Frontier ?

The Mk1 frame was boost QR, which was a bit of an issue finding a hub for. The new version with bolt through should be fine.

I have a new Frontier. As Cakeandcheese said, the older version had strange hubs, but the new one is more conventional.

It's my first mountain bike, and I've only used it in the local woods for short rides, so i can't give you good comparative review, but it is great, and I come back with a smile on my face.

Bought a Frontier frame & fork a few weeks ago, along with a set of the 29er Love Mud wheels and they're great. The latest frame is 148 boost rear with bolt through axle.

I've not done too much with mine yet, only ridden a few miles on it but I love it. A complete change from my 130mm full susser but hat doesn't make it any worse. I'd forgotten how much fun fully rigid can be.

How is the frame stiffness ? Would it be a good bike for long (80miles) cross country routes on paths, gravel roads etc ? I would probably put a Rockshox Reba 120 or 130mm fork on the front. Frame only is £250, so coming in cheaper than an Onone Scandal currently.

Sorry didn't see the frame only option as seems to come up if you search for it on the alpkit site. Surely it's worth the extra £50 for the fork for a spare.

I ordered a frameset anyway so would be interested if anyone has seems some good deals on suitable parts or has any idea what headset fits I wouldn't be buying a fsa headset after multiple bad experiences
