Cant fit a saddle bag/bottle cage to my bike, my current pack, camelbak charge lr (older model) feel like wearing a soggy, heavy rag on my back once i get sweaty.

So either looking for a super minimal pack, and i mean minimal that has some structure that keeps it off my back allowing airflow, or some sort of "bum bag" that's comfy and doesn't loose it's bottles.

Any suggestions of stuff to look at?

I've moved to saddle pack & bottle cages as I was carrying far too much stuff but if you can't fit them then I guess you'll just have to try a load of different packs till you find one that works

How big is your "prison pocket"?
With a bit of practice you should be able to fit all your un needed tat up there. 😉

With a bit of practice

1 Litre bottle of water?

I think I've seen an instructional video for that...

osprey talon 8 or 4. i've been using an 8 for a year or so and it's excellent. quite a bit of room actually, though i did have to buy a shorter pump. cleverly thought out details - the bottle retention in particular. i recommend. 🙂

I have one of these and prefer to use it in the hotter weather.. I can fit a multi tool, spare tube, puncture kit, phone, pump, keys and a snack in it without too much agro.. It fits snuggly around the waist and doenst seem to get in the way at all.. The benefit is that your back doesnt get as sodden as it does when you wear a backpac..

Montane Batpack is currently half price

Was going to buy one but already use a frame mounted bottle and an OMM 3l pack. This would just be ANOTHER pack!

I tried the lifeventure baserunner, worked quite well, lots of space 1 or 2 bottles
couple of straps to take up the loose space so stuff does not bounce around and
airflow vents and cushions on the back.

I dont notice it unless I am carrying way too much kit, the water bottle holder has a clip to stop the bottle falling out

Also got a fitsip to try this summer, should be ok for short blasts instead of a bottle.

Not sure what frame you have but if there is room but no mounting points I'm sure I've seen bottle cages cable tied to frames before

I'm tempted by one of the Inov8 waist packs that have a horizontal bladder arrangement.

It seems that the bumbag is making a return to fashion! Or I'm getting old and not caring about fashion any more...

What top are you wearing to ride in? I find that 'proper' cycling tops don't feel sweaty no matter which bag I'm wearing.

Have a look at lifeaventure bags
http://www.madison.co.uk/search?tags=base+runner+bag&tags_clicked=&tags_cat=&x=0&y=0 (first 2 bags)

G/F got uses one when going out local and one bottle is not enough (one bottle cage on bike)and a back pack is to much.
