How much?! If anyone’s got that amount of money to spend on a vehicle, I’m selling my camper van soon 🙂 It even fits me at 6’5”.

*sigh* I'd love to be able to browse the classifieds, and maybe even place a WTD ad for my next frame, like I did for my current and last frames. But my phone rarely gets far down an STW webpage without spannering itself and, if I disable the adblocker on my netbook while on STW, Chrome grinds to a halt. I know, it's probably my fault.

@simondbarnes - stealth ads work - you’ve got mail!

10 grand new and what would you use it for? Seems like it'd be very compromised as an eco commuter and not really solve any of those issues and I'm not sure I'd enjoy a Sunday ride in a shiny carbon coffin much either. Is it for racing?

Saw about 10 of them bombing along in a long line on a cycle path in Holland once - looked like a weird 70's sci fi film

Not sure how safe in the UK though..

Although always had an itch for a Speedy Wincheeta though

That is awesome. I'm not sure I'd have any use for it except maybe commuting in really, really wet and nasty weather, but still...

Has anyone here ever ridden a fully enclosed bike like that? What's it like for ventilation/sweatiness?

I don’t understand it. Who’d want to pedal around in an egg. Can imagine it would be quite scary on the road and highly amusing off road

There's a local lad here been using one for about 10 years . It's bright yellow and has a flag. He fairly flies along. Can certainly keep pace with the traffic.

Interesting the link works with pictures with my ad blocker on. I normally disable it when I visit stw so I don't break the rules but forgot before clicking the link. My phone won't let me post ads either.

Thankfully I'm 6ft3 so won't fit in that. I don't really get it either unless it has an electric motor in it I didn't see?

How much are the new generation of sinclair 5s?

Efficiency? Same power that will get you 18mph on a normal bike could get you 30mph.

I love the idea, but I think practicality gets in the way. Not sure I'd fancy mixing it with traffic in one of these. If I had a long, flat, traffic-free commute then maybe.

As for all the "how much" comments - low volume manufacturing, huge pieces of CF & perspex (or whatever the canopy is), 3 wheels, suspension and coming in under 25kg. Seems pretty fair to me.

Always wanted a sinner mango. Open top and fast. I have a naked velomobile - catrike voyager recumbent trike. 11 kilos but no body work. It doesn’t fly, but you always grin after every ride. I could add a fairing on the front.

Try one, they are a hoot.

i like it. Would not want to ride on the road with it though. Surely it's just for a track.

Yeah the lights and indicators are mandatory in recumbent racing 😉

Looks pretty decent actually, keeps the elements off you and speed up. No more vulnerable than any other recumbent, maybe less so thanks to the white canopy.
