Need some help please as I've never ridden either of these shocks and I have to choose one to put on a Helius AM. I'm not a major league jumper going rad to the max and I'll be riding the bike uphill as well as down, so my gut feel tells me to go with the Air but is that wrong? Mostly UK trail centre use for this bike.
Thoughts?
Any fule kno air shocks are rubbish.
Seriously I thought the air DHX shock was OK (they get slated) but I'm clearly not a connoisseur. Coil shocks are plusher is has to be said
i got a spare 200mmm dhx air
If I had a choice out of the two it would without doubt be the coil. But if you brought the RP23 into it I would definitely find it hard to choose.
You will think an air is okay until you try a coil... if you want plush coil is the way to go.
jedi whats the stroke length?
jedi yhm
I swapped an DHX air for a 4.0 coil on my nomad, it made a noticable improvement to the ride. I've been told the air can take quite a bit of fettling to get it setup perfect - could be I never got it right.
Think the newer versions have better pro pedal setup. Why on earth fox thought I'd want 16 something clicks of adjustment is beyond me.
RP23 is supposedly the air shock to get.

fox van also a +1
Choice is just between the two foxes. Sounds like the general consensus is coil then. Oh so exciting!
