You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I bought a medium genesis fugio 2018 new ages ago and don't like gravel. It has a quite a few upgrades and is like new but I've no idea how to price it as I can't find anything similar spec. Any ideas anyone? I'm curious to know whether to sell it or if I lose to much to mothball it and see if my love rekindles! Thanks.
There's a general rule of 50% price drop for first year then 10% off each year after that.
We're in strange times, you could probably put it up on Facebook marketplace/eBay for 70% of its RRP and get it
Have you still got the 'stock' parts? Put them back on and sell it then sell the upgrades. Ask 60% if in good condition
The upgrades won't add much, if anything at all. A stock bike will likely sell just as well as it hasn't been messed around with and buyers like that. As above the 50%, then 10% thing is a good start. Maybe a little more if it is very tidy. Also agree that putting it back stock then selling the upgrades will net you more.
As mentioned above, strange times with loads of people in lockdown cycling more than they might otherwise means prices are very buoyant. Put back to original and go for 60-70% of new if really unmarked. You may be surprised. Ne realistic though and be prepared to accept the standard 50% off new if no-one bites.
Thanks guys much appreciated 👍👍
Just to add; I 'lost' a bike on eBay that was listed as needing a new rear wheel and lots of TLC. There were lots of good photos, but the bike was filthy and looked like it had had a hard life.
It sold for just shy of £400 including P&P and it was £475 new....
Prices are through the roof at the moment!
Bundle a used Wahoo Kickr with it and you could get enough to buy Branson's island off him.
