I have need of another good front light, for use on and off road.
I also need three rear lights. Ideally durable or batteries as I have lots of rechargeable AAA and AA. Fed up of elcheapo lights dying through duff embedded batteries or charging ports.

I quite like Lezyne lights. I have 4 fronts of various lumenage. They update their models pretty regularly and you can generally get last years lights pretty cheap.

I just bought a 1600XXL front light for £78 from CRC. Makes a great bar light for off road and you can run it at a lower output for on road.

I just picked up the 1000
Lumens Lezyne light from halfords
Had it out last week and it’s pretty bright
Way brighter than my Ultrafire “1000” lumens torch
Was looking at the halfords one but the Lezyne is far smaller
Might grab another for my lid too as they work with the halfords Gopro light mount

Mtb batteries for the front. I've had a few over the years, never let me down. Dead easy to buy spare/replacement batteries.

Planet X for the rear. I've got a couple of the rechargable ones that can be a front or rear light, great on there own or as a back up. Have a lezyne but has a habit of turning itself off.

I have a Lezyne 800 one, I don't like it. It's a lovely unit but the beam is way too floody. So on road I have to use a couple of lumen levels above my Light and Motion light, which negates the benefit of the bigger battery, and dazzles more drivers.

For reference, the beam patterns on the mtb batteries are pretty close to perfect to me. The Lumenater is very floody and the lumen more spot lighty.

Ravemen PR1200 or PR1600

Built-in battery though*

Can’t offhand think of anything else to touch it that’s similarly useful both on and off road, and it’s a sturdy unit. Also doubles as a USB powerbank. I have the 900 and it’s been transformative riding on unlit roads and trails. No more eyestrain/glare. No more blinded/dazzled road-users, no need to keep changing the angle/pointing at the wheel. No need to run lower power on the roads. Love it.

There’s plenty of light available offroad using the high beam mode (dual emitters, 1 x far and wide w/cutoff - 1 x flood/spot)

I’m definitely upgrading to the PR1600 at some point, I bought the PR900 just for road/light gravel but even that does much more. I say ‘transformative’ because of the quality, throw, pattern and colour temps of the beam/s. Feels more like a quality automotive light in use. Obviously a lot of thought has gone into them.

*Maybe Fenix have something that takes rechargeable AA/AAAs?
