I’m looking for a longer lasting battery pack for a solarstorm light, has anyone got any recommendations please?
Mtb batteries or Torchy the Battery Boy are the two usual suspects.

Would be who id call. Helped me out before now and just sorted out a mate who was in need of a new battery and charger for a used head unit
Just to even things up, I'll recommend Torchy.
Got a brand new one from MTB batteries that I'll sell if you're interested. About a month old. Used once. Ended up getting a couple of exposures so it's not needed.
Also you could get an 18650 battery box and your choice of batteries to go in it, although maybe about the same price as MTb batteries etc
I use a Torchy one on mine 🙂
Torchy has these for 10% off at the min -
Bought a used Solar Storm X2 from classifieds back in 2014. Light unit came with a battery pack (and charger) from Torchy
Seller claimed approx 4 hrs on high beam. Seems about right. Put it this way they are still going strong and I only recharge every 2-3 rides. Medium is normally bright enough for my mixed terrain.
the torchy one linked above is ace.
while you're at it, buy one of his proper chargers
MtbBatteries every time. My Torchy battery developed a fault after less than a year and Torchy didn’t want to know.
Mark at MtbBatteries walked me through how to fix it, purely out of goodwill (several back and forth emails). Top bloke.
I like Hunk Lee on ebay. You know exactly what cells you're getting and quality is superb.

I would avoid the ebay battery boxes like this type.
I bought one last year and got some quality batteries and a charger from torchy. The problem box has springs at only one end and just going over the smallest bump breaks the circuit and the lights go off. Dropping off a kerb is all it takes. I've bought springs for the other side and still too much movement. I've tried small bits of inner tube inside to hold in place and it was then effort to remove the batteries for charging.
I ended up buying a cheap ready made battery pack on ebay and now just use the box as a spare power supply for my phone when travelling.
Would be interested to hear if anyone else has found a successful battery box for offroad.
Just bought one of these myself after having had a good few years use from my last Magicshine battery:
Cure for solarstorm battery boxes and battery rattle/power break - use a rare earth magnet on the bottom of each cell. I do this for my unprotected panasonics, but not needed on longer protected cells.
