Hi All
Looking to get a soft dry bag to mount on the top of my pannier rack.
This will be used for daily commute to work, as well as some longer single day Audax type rides. I have ortlieb panniers for touring, but finding them to big and bulky for daily use.
I have narrowed it down to two bags:
Dose anyone have any experience with either, or could anyone recommend any other similar products.
I've got a BTR one...arrived a little too late for my first bike packing trip, but should be used before too long. Looks well made and sturdy for the money though.
Fits a 2 person tent and one (poss 2) sleeping bags inside.
Just keep it in mind that strapping a soft dry bag to the top of a rack almost always eventually makes a hole in the dry bag. So don't go crazy with buying an expensive one!
I had that LOMO bag. Its incredibly well made for £30. if you can live with the colour then its an awesome bit of kit.
Thanks, I am partial to the lomo bag.
Good point about holes in the bag, I had not though of that!!!
I've got a couple of the Lomo ones. It comes with a Velcro pad that you attach to the pannier rack, it then vecros and clips to it. You shouldn't get any holes in it - I've used mine directly on top of a specialised pizza rack for 3 years now and it's fine, the fabric is incredibly tough!
I've got that Lomo one and use it on a front porteur rack for commuting when I don't need the panniers or as extra capacity with the large panniers for a supermarket run. It's very robust and you can fill it beyond capacity if wanted. As above it has a velcro on pad but I usually don't bother with it as it means two lots of clips to remove as I don't use the same bag combo every trip. Nice and secure with or without the pad, good value and has a wallet pocket for your wallet and or phone which is handy.
I have the LOMO one. It's great.
