You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
do you ever get up on a morning, and think to yourself 'sod it, i am not doing anything today'.
1st time since retiring over 2 years ago,i got up today, with zero enthusiasm for anything over than laying on the sofa doing nowt.
3 youngest grandkids are drawing at the kitchen table, mrs is reading. i have some nice coffee. all good for now.
i will need to muster myself later for the 100 days exercise thing. but for now, nowt, may even have a nap.
I do.
Yea, most days. And I'm still working. With about 25 years to go. Zero motivation. Zero enthusiasm. Sunday nights are a disaster, I know how my days will pan out in the coming week. I'd pack it all in tomorrow but I can't afford too.
The chance would be a fine thing. Literally never ever able to do that - between work / wife / child there’s never any peace unless they go out. Then I have to grab the opportunities to ride my bike when I can. I’m quite time poor.
Nope,it's the slippery slope to daytime telly and afternoon snoozes.
The shed of comfort, with an endless list of projects is my saviour. 👍 😆
Time spent resting is not time wasted.
That's my "excuse" and I'm sticking to it.
Time spent resting is not time wasted.
This. I have a bit of a catchphrase that I have to use with MrsIHN sometimes - rest is not a four-letter word
I created a 'new job' related to bikes to do in the garage this morning, for no other reason than to avoid another sofa day. In my defence, yesterday I will admit to bring a tad hungover after a very rare day/evening out, and there was plenty of sport on the idiot-box 😁 This new job, however, has thus far cost me £30 🤦🏻♂️
Quite often but I get a hour or two into lounging about and I get restless.
The thoughts there but in practice rarely happens.
Nope - just can't do that. Get bored too quickly.
Strange that this is the first post i see as I turn the laptop on . I booked today off as my wife and daughter returned from a week away with the father inlaw and the flight didnt land until 3am this morning . I got up and managed a quick ride out which in turn ended up with me getting pissed wet like a drowned rat . From this point now im going to do the square route of jack for the rest of the day . Im going to eat junk and drink hot tea . Its not lack on motivation its a rest day after a big day riding in the Lakes Saturday and a 12 mike hike/scramble yesterday .
Whole days? Not a chance! An afternoon for a few hours having done a 4 mile run and a 22 mile ride? yep! Then the rest of the evening after a 3 mile walk? yep!
Well if you get a working breed dog, what do you expect?! Even without him I can't sit for that long without doing something, would feel too guilty and it could tip down the next day so I need to strike while the iron is hot!
Yep.
I've done sweet FA today.
Need to walk to the PO in a bit but other than that I've watched some Youtube and had a couple of coffees.

What he said.
Walked to work this morning in the darkness and the pissing rain like I do every day. I just felt like lying down in the gutter and melting away.
Proper sick of everything.
I got up this morning and logged on, only to be told I’d booked the day off. So here I am. I’ve also been for a bike ride, where I may or may not have been testing waterproofs. And I hoovered my bedroom for the first time in over a month. Tea and book on the sofa levels of dozing now until bouldering tonight 🙂
I had a doze on the sofa yesterday, then woke up and watched four episodes of the Umbrella Academy back to back...
Nope,it’s the slippery slope to daytime telly and afternoon snoozes.
Literally spent all day yesterday on the sofa. Come Dine With Me followed by Four in a Bed.
A real novelty for me, but I was rather delicate from a Halloween party Saturday night.
Love a sofa day - sometimes a mental health thing, sometimes a genuine need to rest after running round after work, and family.
MrsMC also loves a sofa day. Problem is we never coordinate for the same day, cue resentment.
nothing wrong with an afternoon nap either. I mean siesta as we are all modern and european and metrosexual these days
Mrs FOG spends most of her life on the sofa, the rest in bed. She only gets up to go to the toilet. She does have some health problems but doesn't even do what she is capable of. The only time she gets motivated is when I want to go out on my bike when she suddenly remembers a job that just had to be done that moment
Yep. Today I’ve walked the dog with my wife for half an hour and that’s it. Admittedly I’m between night shifts so was asleep until about 2pm.
But sometimes I find I just need a day doing nothing / very little. We often try to fill our days off between shifts but sometimes it just gets a bit much and having no plans to rush away anywhere and spend a few days lazing about at home to reset is needed.
