just to put a dampner on it, i had a few pairs and found them to be crap, no life expectancy what so ever. wore through heels and toes in a matter of months.

DeFeets here too. Don't really notice them which, in a sock, is a good thing!

Smartwool here, proper comfy. Got some Sockguy socks and my feet sweat real bad in them. Smartwool is my first choice...just much comfier and my feet don't sweat anything like with other socks.

Careful slaggin sockguy ..... Me an a few others have had em an they fell apart . Voiced it on here and a vested interest told us we were talking shite and to cut our toe nails - mine wore through on both toes - one with a neatly trimmed nail - the other with no nail at all !

Defeet and endura merino socks strangely have not posed any issues !

I have a pair of these;

Which I've worn for probably 80% of my bike activity for the last 6 months or so, and they remain as comfy and lovely as the day I got them. I really should get round to getting some more pairs...

I just buy whatever M&S/Matalan/Aldi/Lidl are selling, can't say I've ever really looked at who makes them or kept details of how long they last

Ok I am going against the grain here a bit, I wear Sockguy socks every day, all day, they fit nicely in my steel toecap boots and last about 2years, I don't really notice them. Oh and occasional i put them in some cycle shoes and they work with them to. As for the other mentioned above I have not tried them to be able to comment,

Find sock guy socks pretty good to be honest. No doubt De-Feet socks last longer but they don't make socks with a Saltire and Robert Burns on them!

My fave socks are the free Crank Bros ones I got for filling a survey in on here. Atherwise, Aldi running/cycling socks are good.

I don't even know where my socks are from. They're socks, they go on your feet, you throw them away when they're knackered. Do people really think about this stuff?

Ive had my sock guy socks for two years now, bought the wool ones and they're great. Yea cut your toe nails, prevents damage to socks, also wash frequently lol.

Those who slag these socks off are talking shite. They should make them longer though!

You pay a bit more for 'cycling' socks, they fit a bit better and don't bunch in your shoes, or wear as quickly as normal cheapo socks.

It doesn't take much thinking about.

They don't cost much. 3 for £10? so hardly a cost issue.

One less thing to bother me when I'm doing lots of miles.

And if my bike socks are so pointless, then my wife wouldn't steal them because they are so comfortable.

Oh and they make easy Xmas presents for the cyclist in your life.

Maybe try them and then make a decision, then criticise?

I love these and they have lasted as well as my merino socks so far. I'm now expecting them to fall apart in next ride or so 😕

i have ten year old defeets still going, yet the enduras i bought last year have worn out on the heels. The sock guys i bought the year before have all failed. I just wish that Defeet were as easy to get hold of as they used to be, ie 10 years ago. There doesn't seem to be the range of styles or shops to buy from as there used to be.
