A group of us are planning a (motor)bike trip once the covid restrictions ease here in Victoria.
I'm looking for a way that we can plan a route where everyone has access to the route and can modify it, but I'm kind of struggling. The best option I can come up with is creating an account on something like ridewithgps.com and giving everyone the login details.
When I've googled it, there's plenty of options for social itenerary planning (think gap year etc), but I can't find anything thats more about the route rather than the destination.
Anybody know of something suitable? Is it possible with google maps?
Bit clunky but works:
plan route on google maps in web browser, (not the app), copy URL and share with friends via IM or email. If anyone wants to modify they then share the updated URL.
EDIT: You can use the App in a similar way by creating a route and using the “Share” function.
Would that keep any manual rerouting? I'm sure in the past when I've planned a route and dragged the route to take certain roads, when I've then shared it it's list that and reverted to the standard X to y route?
You can do it with Google maps but to keep the modifications you should add an extra destination to 'fix' the route in a certain way. Bus stops or manually dropping a pin works well for when I've done it for similar adventures in cars.
