Do you can buy a permit, although prices have doubled

https://www.greensandtrust.org/Pages/Events/Category/park-pass?Take=6

It says they are open here

But the link on Facebook seems to have gone

As a local I’m glad it’s open. Thanks to all the volunteers. Apparently lots of work has been done on the bike park

£80 for the year to ride at woburn? That is a hell of a lot of money for what is there, and it doesn't include the other side, that's taking the piss

Prices do seem bonkers

Compared to swinley where you pay £6? To park for the day and theres twice the distance of trails

If I were to do a family ride Woburn would be £60 ! And that doesn't even include rushmere that'd be another 60 for an even shorter trail

Yeah, that’s taking the p*ss a little bit. Especially considering that all of the trail maintenance is performed by volunteers and that the only reason they introduced passes in the first place was to address the issue of liability in granting access to the public to ride on private land. It’s not like the Duke of Bedford is struggling to make ends meet with his net worth of £685 million (making him significantly richer than the Queen).

Is the increase in the ticket price to ride the trails to pay for the employment and the salaries of people to make sure you've got tickets to ride the trails?

That's a lot.

I note that the day price increases to £25 if caught not paying ahead.
How's that going to be enforced? I've oy ever seen a ranger around the jump area. As an xc rider I have no interest in jumps, happy to pay a reasonable amount. £10 is too much.

That's quite expensive. I guess coming from Cambridge I am anyway paying £20 in diesel. But, no.

If you live in Cambridge, what else is there? Phoenix, Chicksands and Twisted for jumps, or 2.5hr to the Peak \ Cannock?

It’ll be interesting to see what happens to cyclone membership. That’s usually been the cheapest route for year round access to Woburn and Rushmere

There was some talk of funding machine hire for the work in the bike park

Considering i can make a loop of 15km in chicksands woods and make it up to 28km by doing the Clophill loop i have no intention of wasting money going to woburn anymore. Although might do some night rides over winter

Don't think i have one, will have to go and ride it all as a separate ride. Normally do it as part of a loop taking in the Clophill loop too.
Happy to show people around if interested, it does get very intervally in the woods but have managed to make it so we only ride a couple of sections twice.

If i can figure out how to get it off my garmin then i can pull a gpx, it isn't of the whole loop as we have added a few more sections to it recently. But it is 26km

It doesn’t have to be perfect and I’m sure I can cope with it including other stuff

Presumably you familiar with the stuff round centre parcs, Milbrooke and Cranfield which work well in the summer

Not been over that way really. I tend to ride this loop with a mate every week and we have been adding to it over time. Found a couple more trails in the woods today to add in somehow

Pretty much as above, I wonder how much of that money goes to helping supply the trail builders with equipment, tea, coffee, or even a thank you meal rather than for some other more general cost. I know there is general upkeep cost but if you are specifically charging for the bike park bit then a significant proportion of the money should go to the builders

That’s nuts . I know inflation is running high but more than the old Rushmere and Aspley combined (unless the new passes are a combined pass) and is bound to encourage people avoiding it . Would make more sense to reduce the price and have more take up ( rather than people chancing it and trying to dodge payment)
