I would've bet money they hadn't crushed them all!

And I'd have been right... 😀

Thats cool

Very odd story with those bikes!

Be good to see them available, although they will be ££££, and probably quite heavy

Reckon they may have been over rated, Minaar has been doing a heck of a lot better on a Santa cruz!!

Someone was saying that the tomac in the background is a couple seasons old, meaning the pics might be a prank, but the guy swears blind he is telling the truth.

Yep Showa, very nicely built and easy to work on. The whole bike had incredible build quality as you would expect from HRC.

do you actually follow WC DH racing?

When Minnaar was on Honda I'd say the competition was tougher, right now with Hill & Barel injured, rennie retired, Peat er..old/tired/whatever and lehinoken/kovarik lost their edge/luck he only really has Gee to worry about.. (Blenki's prob too inconsistent and Gwinn is still relitively inexperienced), but even back then Minnaar managed to win quite a bit on that "over rated" Honda. For example, He actually won qualifying at the worlds on it but crashed in the final (still managing 4th)

Amazing looking things, and amazing what Honda (and all the hype) brought to DH. Gearbox looked very straightforward and was basically just a derailier (sic) in a box. Can't see them making a return alas.

GW, Minnaar has won 14 world cups and 9 of them have been on santa cruz, in 2 and a half seasons. I don't reckon the competition was harder in previous seasons.
This year it's just him and Gee, but the the other two years Peat, Gee, Barrel and Hill have been in the mix.
But the Hondas did seem to suit lehinoken. Been good to have seen what he'd have done on intense had he not broken his back.
Rennie hadn't been really on it since he joined santa cruz. Hmmm maybe the v10 is overrated 😉

Honda has a habit of destroying all HRC stuff. Graham Noyce and Dave Thorpes bikes were all crushed.

or maybe you're puting far too much emphasis on the bike.

Minnaar has simply matured into a Vouilloz style "alien" Doubt he'll ever manage the Hill style "alien" tho.
