Right, I'm in the potentially selling my bike to my brother in law, and I want to make sure we're both getting a good deal. The bike is less than 2 years old, in really good nick and has new BB and pivot bearings throughout, generally very well looked after (and not used as much as it should be)!

I realise this does nothing to answer the question. 60% of new price for the first year minus ten percent for every year after that usually does the trick.
That sort of helps, I got the frame and fork discounted but it still cost around £3400 to build.
Thje fact that it's had so little use probably tips it a bit higher, but the mate's rates for your brother in law tips it back again.
