The jeffsy needs:

Pike sending away for full service.

Monarch Plus sending away for repair (stuck down).

New bearings in the Hope Pro 4's. Bit disappointed in that as not done many miles on these new hubs. Will pump grease into the new bearings.

Fit some new Invisiframe sections to frame.

Cut down the SixC carbon bars....my natural trails are just too overgrown in the summer to run mega wide bars. For me anyway!

What's on your list guys?

Bird Aeris 120: needs a shock service, Leaking oil and lockout doesn’t. See if I can nurse the drivetrain through until spring.

SolarisMax: Extended X-Fusion McQueen to 140mm, stick in a new hope headset, change tyres to MM 2.8 and ForeKaster 2.6, Helitape rear stays and fit rear mudguard.

Ibis RipMo: Put away until spring!

Yaris will be getting a full strip down When new seal kit arrives, 2 years old and never touched them.

minion SS rear will be getting changed when I decide what new tyre to replace it with.

Everything with bearings are hope so not worried about those bits.

GBIKE, Raleigh Mustang

Full strip down when I get time. just installed new gear cable, tubeless sealant needs changing. Chain and rings will be changed after the winter gloop has gone.

Malt2 - Just had a service (new BB, new shifter cables, general love with lube), but will be getting a new headset and fork in the next couple of weeks and the tyres swapped to winter ones when the first snow hits and settles.

Stumpy - General winter cleanup and love. Other than that, it's fine

Malt-R - Need a bike fit, so possibly new stem. Other than that, nothing required this year.

The Soul, nothing at the minute, running pretty well.

The full sus is going to morph into a Cotic Flare MAX around January so I'm going to be nursing everything until then.

The wife's bikes are also ok at the minute but her summer roadie needs a couple of bits doing.

Well, put some new tyres on my wife's fat bike yesterday.

The forks on the Spearfish are probably due a service but there's no rush as I've no rides planned for it until next spring. The other bikes just need brake pads checking and chains oiling as required. Might put winter tyres on the Solaris.

Indy Fab - looking okay, serviced forks recently and fitted a newer chain.

Geometron - Want to get some new forks (the Pikes that it has on at the moment are four years old and I want to get some 170mm Lyriks). New forks = boost front hub (can't see any point in getting a new fork that isn't boost, that's the way it's going). New front hub means I'll rebuild the front wheel with a new rim (thankfully the spokes will still work). I'll then transfer the old front rim to the rear wheel (replacing the current rear rim which is hanging). Whilst I'm at it I'll replace the bearings in the rear hub. Probably ought to get the shock serviced too. That'll keep me going...

EDIT: and I ought to bleed the brakes on the Geometron.

Giant - new hub bearings, brake bleed, off to shop for pivot bearing change.

Road bike - fit mudguards

Single speed - use this until the clocks go forward....

MTB's pretty good at the moment, I need to shorted the new cable for the dropper, maybe replace the bearings in the lower linkage, but the upper linkage was a bit of a nightmare so I might let sleeping dogs lay there, it runs smooth. New headset bearings went it a few days ago.

I'll probably service the Yari because it's only a 40 min job.

Oh, and despite saying I'd never do it again for a decade, I might go tubeless.

Road bike - buy saddle bag so I've always got the right inner tube on it! Punctured last week and was only carrying inner tubes for the other bike, hence trying to glue a patch on in the rain, don't fancy doing that mid-winter...

Commuter - Buy chain tugs, the new lower gear means the wheel is midway in the dropouts and it's a faff to tension with mudguards etc. in the way. Buy and fit carbon fibre TRP brake levers, just because they exist. The 5g weight saving might get the total weight of the bike under 10kg... 🙄

CX Bike - Buy derailleur hanger alignment tool, ****ing 11spd drivetrain is all over the shop despite looking perfectly straight.

Rocket - swap air shaft on Yari to get 160mm rather than 150mm and fit rear mudhugger again.

Canyon - sort rear mech out, then try and keep it limping along until new Solaris Max frame turns up in (hopefully) December  🙂

Road bike - fit new 25mm tyres, sort saddle/stem positions so its' something like comfortable, try and find some mudguards, and something else I'm sure I've forgotten...

Singlespeed frankenbike - lube chain maybe?

Enough to keep me going...

Need 650B forks for the BFe as the current bodge old Fox 36 only have room for summer friendly rubber.  Might just put 26 wheels and chunky winter rubber in for the inevitable winter trashing. Any recommendations on new 26 winter tires? Preferably big chunky ones so as not to drop the height too much.

Road bike probably needs new pads but that's about it.

Could potentially rebuild the single speed back up, I 'think' I have everything i would need and use that for winter hack / uni commute bike.  I suspect the brakes would need a bleed and new bottom bracket needed.

Also regain some kind of motivation!

Ooh, thanks for the reminder, bought some fancy new Swisstop BXP pads for the road bike but never fitted them.

Also bought new rotors for CX bike in yet another attempt to cure infernal wet weather squeal. Need to spend half a day forensically bedding them in, will try and combine with some intervals, sprint up the hill, drag brakes all the way back down, repeat.

Ha, I've promised myself I'll stop spending so much money on the bike in order that I can afford a riding holiday next year, maybe I should take those carbon brake levers off my list after all, package trips to the Mallorca 312 don't come cheap...

The tandem might get a new set of rear pads - the ones on it are half worn after a couple of years usage.

Other than that its merely the usual annual service - a squirt of oil in the gear cables via the middleburn oilers.  Brake fluid gets its annual change on the bikes that have not had it already.  Putoline the chains.  Oil change in the forks.

No repairs needed to any of the bikes, no upgrades needed either.

its actually a bit dull - I enjoy tinkering with bikes and as a result all my bikes are in 100% working order and I have nothing really to do to them.

Every winter I say I'll get my forks and shock serviced... maybe this year.

The bearings probably need replacing in my kona process as they're 2 years old now. The old girl probably wouldn't mind some new wheels either, but money innit.

My Geometron is in a million bits in the cellar.

X2 shock has gone to a professional. I'm going to do the forks today hopefully. Hope E4's need a bleed.

The main pivot axle is made of cheese and I deformed mine drifting it out but luckily I've scrounged a replacement. Hopefully when I get it back together I don't have the same problem that when I torque it up the chainstays won't swing.

Don't think I need to buy or replace anything which is lucky. I just want to get out riding and try to remember why I bother with it all.

Bought some very expensive sintered, finned pads for my Shimano hydraulic brakes on the CX bike...and they were a complete waste of money. Work well in the dry, but the moment they get even remotely damp, they squeal and squeal and squeal and nothing you can do stops it. When you haul the brakes on hard they do stop squealing after maybe 5s of continuous use, but the moment you release and re-apply, they start again.

Money completely wasted and back on the OEM organic compound pads. Squeal fixed.

I had heard that they were good with warranty (one of the reasons I used them). Hopefully their attitude is a little better when/if I break the bike.

Full Suss will get a fork and air can service at some point - if only to pack a bit of fresh grease in there to ward off the winter filth. It is my away-day bike, though, so it goes through components at a far slower rate than my workhorse hardtail.

Hardtail is largely done (he hopes) - fork serviced and now lovely and smooth, brakes bled and working nicely. Drivetrain being cleaned and re-lubed weekly as always. Dropper serviced, cleaned and worn parts replaced. Headset cleaned out and repacked when fork serviced. Grippier tyres have been fitted tubeless, so should hopefully last until they are changed at the end of next spring.

Drop the lowers on the G16, maybe do the seals although they seem fine. Replace a bearing cap that got a bit damaged on the last bearing change. Replace shot Reverb (it's six years old and has never had a service so fair enough) on G13 with a BikeYoke 185. Replace Rekon on the back of the hardtail with a new Silkshield Rekon without so many plugs in it. Maybe pop a shiny SolarisMAx frame on the hardtail.

To be honest, I'm pretty blown away by the lack of problems I have these days.

Nope, sorry after a 27.5" Lyrik RC2. Current plan is to buy a cheap 2018 Yari, upgrade the airshaft to the 2019 Debonair, then get the Lyrik Charger 2 RC2 damper upgrade. Reckon that if I get it right I might be able to do it for about £590 (which is much less than a 2019 Lyrik). Also should be able to get a QR Maxle, rather than the bolt through Maxle that the 2019 Lyriks come with (which effectively saves another £50 or so).

I think I could have predicted that (now) as I keep reading about how once you've bedded a set of rotors in with one compound, you shouldn't switch compounds. Plus if you bed a set of rotors in badly they can apparently squeal. Hence new pads = new rotors for me, and another afternoon sprinting up and down getting funny looks from the neighbours 😀

gone oval. They’re superb,

I went oval inner on the road bike for the winter, and resolved to stay on the inner ring for 99% of my riding (apparently what the old school roadies used to do in winter anyway when building base miles). It does feel very smooth and lovely but that might just be because I combined it with a new chain and cassette!

The rear derailleur hanger on my Calibre Dune has issues, so that needs sorted. Then time to look into some mudguards, at least one for the rear. After Xmas, I'll be purchasing a Surly Moloko bar and some Ergon grips. Then maybe look to switch to hydraulic brakes, or get the old road bike back on it's wheels…

Not bike but bike related - just been sorting out a multi-tool. It had got damp then not been dried thus it was a little rusty and stiff so a bit of lube and some massage (ooh errr missus!) to get it back into shape.

Rebuild my old Curtis single speed with some 650b gravel tyres

Build my 9 year old a 26 inch bike with a 13 or 14 inch frame so both kids move up a size in spring

road  bike has done nothing this year but could do with new rims or sell the dt240 wheelset and but something carbon

Smuggler doesn't need much, will maybe get some new brakes and the Curtis can inherit the ones on it.

Wife's trek needs brakes bled, tubes, chain, cables.

Will probably all get left till a week before we go away at easter just to keep things interesting

Headset bearings to change on Abigales Enduro after a seasons racing.

Need to look and scratch my head as to why two identical setups with the same chainring offset puts the ring too near to the chainstay on one.

Really need to get round to photographing and advertising all the stuff in the garage that's not been used.

Saracen Hack commuter - needs a new BB, creaks something shocking so I don't like riding it now, but with the crapper weather, will have to take that over the Pickenflick. Rear wheel bearings clean & regrease (first time in 4 years!)

On One Inbred SS Rigid. Hose down. Lube. It will probably need a new freehub at some point this winter, kept getting seized (ish) last year and not expecting it to get through another winter of mud, wet, hose, leave in garage!

Cannondale Prophet. Probably nothing. Just lube and put to bed (apart from trail centre days / frozen ground days). Shock needs attention I think, but as it's the first FS bike I've ever had, I don't really know anything about them.

Pickenflick - keep expecting the rubbish OEM wheels to develop bearing / freehub issues. Hopefully purchase another set of (better) wheels (still haven't decided on 700 or 650b) and keep the current set shod with road tyres for (my rare) trips out on tarmac. New chain probably too.

The bike was pretty new when I swapped them so I was hoping to get away with it. The rotors have been properly cleaned, but it didn't make any difference. I nearly bought new rotors, but in the end just swapped the pads back instead.

Grumble, grumble, <SQQUUUEEEEEEAAAL> grumble, grumble...

If there's any wheel/tyre type that demands to be tubeless it's fat bikes.

Your foot though, that doesn't need to be tubeless. Just concentrate on the fat bike tyres.

I might wash one of the bikes properly.  That would be, like, the second time this year.

When either of them dies mechanically, off to the shop whilst I ride the other.

It's the only way I can ensure they get maintained properly 🙂

Riding the fat bike at the weekend and noticed a bit of crunching when in bottom gear. Got the bike up in the workstand: nothing wrong with the stop screws or b-screw. Then I realised that the noise was coming from the chainring. Hmm. looked like the chainline. Two 2.5mm BB spacers on drive side, one on NDS. Off with the crankset  and the BB cups and move one spacer from drive side to NDS. Put everything back and ...

silence 🙂

wifes XC bike will be getting a new drive train/fork service in early december ready for the puffer

her trail bike will be getting new wheel bearings next week to be ready to stand in as a back up/alternative bike for puffer

MY ragley will be getting a new Drive train towards spring - the full shooting match is knackered - jockeys/chainring are near round , had my moneys worth.

My road bikes going in the bin* after this season its gubbed(15 years old and god knows how many miles) - new one arrives in feb

Wifes road bike will get a new drive train come march as the current one is fit for little more than turbo.

Budget pending i shall upgrade the wifes commuter for dynamo hub and corresponding lights.

*not quite but close , its away to be a mates commuter in edinburgh

New brakes - clean discs, swingarm, hub, and fit new Deore 4 pots that arrived Friday.

Swingarm - swap seat stays over as it turns out they were assembled wrong handed!

Re-index gears after re-routing mech cable.

Try and find some bargain 130mm travel 34mm stanchion forks!

Hand to fully heal so I can ride properly.....

FS needs both shocks servicing and the rear hub isn't right.

TFtuned for the DTSwiss, is there anywhere left that does SPV 3 way servicing? (As an aside, a long time ago people reckoned the shock on LRS would be destroyed within a year, still looks fine to me).

Alfine Hardtail is grand, although the new shifter (normal rise) isn't quite as good as the old rapid rise one.

I need to...

Fit Pro Core to the Transmitter's rear wheel, which I have singularly failed to do for over two years now.

Send a non-functioning Thomson dropper off for a service so it actually comes back up again, again...

Change the linkage bearings on my heritage Blur 4X which I very rarely actually ride

Sort out the squeak on the missus' Soul and the associated squeaks from the missus.

Change the worn rear tyre on the cross bike before it flats mid-ride in the middle of nowhere.

On the plus side, I sent my Joystick and Diablo off to Exposure for fixing last week, so even if nothing else works,  should be able to see where I'm going.

Bed in brakes on new bike when it arrives, and also set up suspension and dial it in, then ride it.
