You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
In the massive closing down CRC sale, I bought some of those Prime wheels, with their SR2D super-special hub (*not* a generic Novatec).
They're pretty decent - except that apparently there was a problem where lots of them were shipped without the 142mm rear NDS spacer, including mine.
And by the time I realised this, CRC were no more.
After a *lot* of hunting around, I eventually found someone selling them from Denmark, and I was so excited that I ordered one, without checking the website too carefully.
A couple of minutes later I got a text from Natwest saying that they had some suspicious activity on my card.
And then the really weird part - there was the spacer (£24) followed by an order for a mystery thing for £94.

Natwest cancelled the £94 transaction but the £24 had already gone through, so I left it.
I now have confirmation from some lovely people in China that my set of 4 antique western cutlery is on its way (????).
And I also have a tracking number for something that is due to arrive in the next few days.
I have no idea what I'm going to end up with but I shall report back.
Hopefully it's 142mm antique Western cutlery!
So, the tracking number I've been sent has now shown my parcel as out for delivery, with the right postcode.
They're using 17track.net which seems like it itself is legit, simply aggregating various different delivery services.
It's been out for a few days now, perhaps today will be my lucky day, or maybe they are time-wasting in a very elaborate way to keep the credit card payment?
Will I ever get my antique western cutlery set end caps?
dibs on the cutlery
Shows as delivered, but not delivered.
Apparently China Post has (had?) a backdoor that let bad people create fake tracking numbers. Time to let the credit card company figure it out.
It looks like if I want to get the wheel to ever work, I need to do a hub swap.
