About 10 months ago I built up a pair of Nextie carbon rims to go on DT Swiss hubs for my roadie. On holiday at the Garda Lake I took the bike up Monte Baldo and was just about a to enjoy the descent when after braking into the first corner the back wheel started making funny noises. I stopped and found that the rear rim had warped outward at the braking surface. I've sent an email with photos to Nextie showing how good the general condition of the rim is and the warp but as yet I haven't recieved a reply. Should I be hopeful? (The rest of the descent down was 'interesting' to say the least only being able to use the front brake. 😯
Yep, that's what happens when carbon clinchers get hot. Suspect you're out of luck.
