...and he is my hero.
He wears the most unfashionable of bike wear. A complete mish-mash of colours and suitability. The most atrocious bike helmet I've ever seen, a heath Robinson pannier at the back that I've seen everything from lengths of batton to his shopping attached to.
See him commuting most days and just generally using the bike as most would use a car.
Just makes me think that ebikes could be such a game changer in towns.
As for his couldn't give a **** attitude to bike fashion, or any fashion at all really.... Well, like I said, he is my hero!
^^ I know, but it's all I've got.😉
It's not TJ on his self modded ebike is it?
Aye, good stuff.
Guy I run with at work, never been a cyclist, bought a bolt on ekit for his hybrid, 700 quid, commutes 12 miles each way now.
Great to see.
Thank you poopy as even though I am a self confessed bike geek.
I simply had to enter the world of ecycling and since then, my fashion sense along with my street cred has gone DH.
I'm Sir you are full hipster all the time irrelevant of what you are riding tdog!😁

Unlikely
atrocious bike helmet
A year ago I chucked a bafang kit on my hardtail. I've now gone out and bought a road bike(I know, I know, but I've got it set up weird and don't wear lycra, so the roadies will still hate me! 😆 ), and I'm back pedalling traditional bikes again, clocked up 230km in the last 2 weeks(legs are feeling it today mind, a chunk of that was at the weekend).
The switch back to normal cycling has been interesting to observe, my heart rate is essential no different at all, it's really just a case of how much effort you put into it for that. Either bike is basically the same.
The one thing I do notice is that my strength is improving rapidly with the road bike compared to the ebike. It's actually very noticeable even when I do jump back on the ebike it's much easier to pedal even with the power off (the hardtail also feels like a couch after the road bike btw!).
Anyhow, from this this highly scientific test 😆 I surmise that ebiking is good for your cardiovascular fitness, but perhaps not so great for your strength. Which kinda makes sense I guess?
I'm going to continue on the road bike for a few months yet see where I get to. It'll be interesting to see what I'm like when I take the motor and battery off the ebike and convert that back to a normal hardtail in a few months, which I'm intending to do, I think.
Anyhoo, just some observations. YMMV.
Interesting...

Not me - apart from anything else mine was not cheap!
