After snapping the derailleur hanger on my summer commuter this morning I could do with a new road frame to swap all the bits onto.

I've had a look on planet-x and they've got some nice ones but italian bottom brackets and glued on carbon rear ends don't do it for me.

I need something with an integrated headset and standard bottom bracket.

Sub £200 if possible.

Thanks

I've been using a PX Uncle John as my winter road bike, It's ace.

Really nice to ride, builds up light enough. Plenty of mudguard/bigger tyre room.

Nice and very similar looking to the bike that dies, but I already have a cx bike as a winter commuter so want something fast and light.

Ribble or Dolan ally frameset with carbon forks can be had for quite a bit less than £200, I know some people are snobby about them but I've never had any problems

I'll take a look at Dolan, had a look on ribble and the only suitable one is white which I don't want and you have to but it with a fork, which I also don't want.

mmm I like this, dolan frame

not sure which size though as they only have 50cm, 52cm or 58cm.

52cm would probably be okay.

I have a dolan with that geometry - if you are less than 5'10 then you'll be ok on a 52 but if your just under 6ft then you'll be too big for a 52 and may be better with the 58 and a short stem

have you tried the ebay sites for BIN frames from the bigger independants (NOT dave Hinde or his numerous aliases like fastpartsforbikes !) ?

I'm 5'8" so the 52cm should be fine then. Not had a look on ebay yet, I'm at work so don't have time to trawl through it.

I was going to suggest that Dolan - I have my eye on one as well. Looks very good value.

Dolan have also advised the 52cm is fine for me. Just about to hit the buy button but I'll also need a front mech clamp - dolan site says size is 31,9mm but I can only find 31.8mm online. Dolan do one but its £15 and I can get one for £5.

Buy my oldish but hardly used Kaffenback frame & forks, the beautiful Blue Dragon look from the past. It's your size, too. I'm asking £100 plus p+p

Kinesis T2

Tiny bit over £200 (but not much), and significantly nicer than the Ribbles and Dolans if you ask me.

Comes in your choice of Black, white or Blue too. Also takes full guards and up to 28c tyres, and has the prerequisite integrated headset and conventional BB that you seek.

I've bought the Dolan but thanks anyway.

Needed a new seatpost and rear mech and with money I had in paypal the whole lot only cost me £83, so can't grumble about that.

Just need to buy the mech band now.

Put some updates up once you've got it if you would - as I say I'm quite keen on one of these pre-next winter.

Will do. If everything arrives I should get it built up at the weekend, all being well. So will be riding it next week.

Built the bike up at the weekend, first commute this morning. Its a fair bit heavier than the frame it replaced but its stiff and fast and flies up hills. I'm very pleased with it.

Bar angle looks a bit odd in the pics but its not in 'real life'.
