Thinking outside the box here:
Any of you lot sold your girlfriends/wifes old ish bike which rarely gets used, sell it and get yourself a hardtail 29er race/gnar bike?
Problem is, I'm 6'4 and she's 5'7... Could this be a problem?
Interested to know your sneaky ways...
Ells
What have your heights got to do with it?
The trick to getting buy in is to play the long game. Start a year before by talking about fancying a new type of bike then bring it up in conversation every so often, show her pictures in passing, bore her to death with it. Then at some point switch from 'thinking of buying' to 'that bike I'm going to buy'... by the end she'll so ready for you to stop talking about it there'll be no resistance.
Jekkyl speaks the truth. I’ve been using this exact tactic for years now and it never fails.
Kinda, i sold the wifes bike lately to make up some space. IF she ever goes out, she's now on the T-130.
I just buy a bike.
Because I'm an adult.
As above.
OP - when you said "girlfriend/wife" you really meant "Mum", yeah?
Have you saved enough from your paper round then?
Have a rummage down below, do you feel a pair of round things? If so buy what you like with your own money.
Nah, as once I've done that she'd want to get out on her bike again.
So, like the above, I explain to her that I'm buying a new bike, this is what it is, this is how much it costs and this is why I want it. Then I buy it. Lovely.
