Right,getting quite hacked off now
last month or so getting snapped spokes front and rear, wheels have been true'd and are about 3 years old
DT Swiss 4.3's on Shimano ....( stumpjumper fsr comp 07) unsure about the spokes tho
they seem to break at both the head and nipple
3 broke on the back wheel on sat after glentress ..all drive side
any ideas or should i just re build with DT Swiss DB spokes and pro loc nipples ?
ps i'm 76k so no fat knacker !!!!
I ended up giving up on my wheels on my 07 Stumpjumper, after about 18 months and the third incident of spoke breakages. Wheels need completely rebuilding because of the crappy alu nipples used. It's not an uncommon problem with these wheels. (oh and i'm only 59kg!)

nice to know its not just me going mad ....
off to the dt swiss site to get spokes then !!!
4 of my mates 07/08 specialized bikes have had spokes break frequently. These are all folk with more than one bike who rarely if ever break spokes on anyone other wheels.
Oddly, their wheels (on £1800-£2500 bikes) all came with dt rims and hubs (very expensive to buy) but not dt spokes or nipples (much more reasonable to buy.) I suppose it looks good on the spec list, and over several zillion sets of wheels saves specialized a fortune.
i had some genuine dt swiss plain guage spokes to replace any snapped ones, its quite scary when you see how wirey the spesh spokes look next to the DT swiss plain guage ones
like i said, think its re build time
cheers for all your help
