So I managed to snap my aluminium seatpost last night I'm after some advice on what long carbon fibre seatpost is recommended. To go in 2011 st4?

Sorry to bounce but as well as recommendations I need to check where you measure to get the right diameter - is it the inside wall of the frame to inside wall or outside wall to outside wall of the post?

It's likely that the diameter is written on the snapped seatpost - normally near the minimum insertion line.

According to this page, it's a 27.2. What make was the one that snapped?

Thanks DruidH, great minds think alike as that's the page I was just on.

It was a basic Orange one which came with the old 2009 ST frame and I transfered it onto the new frame. Went quite slowly as I put my weight down on a non-technical bit of track so no removing of alu shards from rear required thankfully! Panick was that it was the top of the frame going as I run a lot of seat-post, Just 1 cm less than the min-insertion mark, hence my thinking to go for a longer one, plus carbon to keep weight off.
