Trying to fix something else on the bike this afternoon, but thought I'd tweak the gears while I was at it, then noticed that the b-screw wasn't doing anything. Closer inspection revealed that it wasn't meeting anything at the end - there is a stub of plastic which suggests that bit has just broken off.

Mech (SLX M7000) is only a handful of months old, and while I can just about still shift OK, it will need replacing at some point.

Doesn't seem to be an area which is directly in the firing line of rocks etc, and there is no evidence of a strike - has anyone else just had this bit spontaneously snap off?

Had mine on a Sram mech break several times. But that is running outside of design limits with a 1x 42 tooth expander cog. It usually seems to break if the chain is a couple of links too long

This one is definitely running within spec. Weird.
