Hi all, any body had any experience of snapping the swingarm on there 5. If so where was the weak point and how were orange on there warranty.
hi i didnt snap my 5s swing arm but the front frame. sent it back to orange they said they had replaced the front triangle however the ****ers only repaired the crack and it broke within 9 months but by that time it was out of warranty so they wouldnt entertain any further claim..... so i had to buy a new front triangle....
in short mark your damaged part if sending it back for warranty to make sure of what you get back but warranty does say repair or replacement
My swingarm broke close to the pivot. It was out of warranty and i had to buy a new one for £300 but it wasn't all that bad. They agreed to paint the rest of the frame and fit the swingarm for that £300.
I had an '05 frame crack in 3 seperate places after 5 years of regular riding. Given the use it'd had I didn't expect orange to do much but gave them a call anyway.
The guy I spoke to was more than helpful and sorted me out with a new frame on their crash replacment discount scheme. I was more than happy.
The old frame had already had a weld in the front triangle reworked by Orange just before it went out out of warrenty, and the repair lasted longer then their 1st attempt at putting it together. The cracks that finally killed it were all elsewhere, 2 of them being in the swingarm.
