What is the external battery pack of choice for giving a garmin a boost, especially when mapping (and in the cold weather) my 820 is taking a nap just 4 or 5 hours into a ride.
Must be waterproof (resistant I guess), and not too big/heavy, I would guess around 2500mah should be enough for up to ~12 hour Audax events.
p.s. From memory the port is on the front underside, how do I go about making the connection water resistant?
Do you use exposure lights? If so I think their support cells can also be used to charge usb devices.

You can get USB cables where the [url= http://www.l-com.com/usb-right-angle-usb-cable-assemblies ]connector is at right angles[/url] to the cable, avoids undue strain on the connector.
I've a water resistant power cell - can't remember the make/model - but even with this I'd be siting/aligning it so that the USB port faces downwards and avoids water dripping into it.
