Can anyone recommend a smaller gear bag?
I like Dakine Descent duffle bag or Thule Roadtrip bag but they are too big for the amount of stuff I take and for squashing in in between bikes. Must be well made. Doesn't need to be full waterproof.
Lots of organisation for pads, gloves, top, maybe shoes and perhaps some tools, tubes etc. I say perhaps because I'm thinking about putting the tools in a small tool roll bag if I can find one.
I don't want an IKEA bag type thing as I've dropped too many things into puddles when opening the boot. And I don't like the black hole type duffle bags.
You mean like some sort of holdall?
Take a look at LOMO's drybag holdall type bags maybe?
They make quite useful bags for good prices (IMO/IME)...
I have the Dakine Descent and it's a really good bit of kit.
You can organise all your bike kit, from the stuff you wear (clean and dirty) to van tools/track pump really well.
It doesn't look not as big as the claimed volume but you can get a huge amount of kit in it.
It's got a fold out changing mat too!
A holdall would work, so long as it has lots little compartments. Otherwise it turns into a search mission every time something is needed
Packing cubes, the holiday travel type?
That's what I have in my Dakine Descent. To save on rummaging, put gear you use together in the same one, e.g. organised by weather - rather than organised by garment type.
