I’m on the lookout for a frame/bike for my daughter and hoping I might get some recommendations here
She’s 5ft 4” which generally seems to place her on a small adult size.
I’m keen for it to be steel and ideally after a colour she’ll be happy with.
So far I’ve found
Cotic Solaris mk1 that they made
In small duck egg blue .
Nice and lightweight these and she approves of the colour .
Kona Unit , which they did a 27+ bike in blue a couple years back.
Any additional recommendations
appreciated.

Niner, SIR.9 or MCR.
Very light, the later SIR.9 is a chunk heavier. I think they did those in 14” (XS size they called it).
Rare as anything though, but beautiful ride quality. I’ve had an EBay auto search for an MCR running for 6 years. 😁 No luck.
On-One, small Inbred 29er. Looked nice in the orange they did. Ti model is like hens teeth now.

Hi CheesybeanZ
I’m guessing she is not like the orange either, but I’ll show here this eve.
The other possibility is I get a new powder coat done in a colour of her choice.

I've been considering selling my small mk1 Cotic Solaris in that duck egg blue. It's a looker but has always been a bit small for me (I'm 5'7)

Nice build with DT swiss xc wheels, fox factory fork and xt drivetrain, slx brakes. PM me if interested.

Could I ask why steel?

I'm a fanboi of steel, but 5' mrs_oab loves the light weight of alu, and such a small frame = less flex/spring.

That said, they do look better...

It’s because love the look of a steel frame, so yes, just that!
Considered alu, thought about the cheap Sonder frames.
I don’t think it a great deal lighter than a Solaris though.
