I have a small Pompino that I was happily riding with Grasshopper cantilevers front and rear. I now have a fourteen month old son so bought the obligatory childseat, a CoPilot Taxi. The seat attaches to a Blackburn rear carrier.
First attempt and the footwells of the seat foul the cantis so the seat will not attach properly to the rear carrier.
Second attempt, change the rear brakes for Tektro V's but the noodlewill not work in conjunction with the carrier attachment bars.
Anybody had a similar problem? Any suggestions, other than new frame or childseat? Will a more compact canti like Avid shorty 4s work?
Thanks in advance for any helpful replies.
The Hamax seats that fix to clamp on seat tube work great becuse of the natural spring in the steel connection bars.
I know it would mean a new seat but I've had two off STW for less than a new brake cost.
The hammax also has different mounting brackets available to suite various bike formats, 18bikes got one for me that helped clear the rear wheel on my Scandal.
