I have always used the medium mucky Nutz front mudguard. which works well but sometimes catches slightly on a 2.4inch tyre. How are the micro front mudguards ? Looking at the really small Mucky Nutz, or Fox ones. They look a bit too small to catch all but they do sit much higher and look like they wont catch on the tyre, just want it not to flick mud in my face/eyes.

What fork/tyre combo are you running? You should be able to run a large mudguard that doesn't catch at all.

Like @duncancallum says, The Syncros ones are great if you have the right Fox fork.

I've run the longer larger version using 2.8" tyres on a Fox 36 with no trouble.

Where does it catch on the tyre?

Fox 36 - 150mm. I find the larger Mucky Nutz catches on the top of the tyre on landings and very rough terrain.

I've got the syncros one but I'd say it's for summer use only as it's too short at the front to be effective in real wet and muddy conditions.

That Syncros 36 caused oil to seep out around the pressure release valves because the holes were oversized and out of round. Fork needed servicing early because of this. It's also got a bizarre gap either side that funnels sand and other crap straight onto the seals, probably the cause of a scratched stanchion. Binned it and put the old Mucky Nutz back on.
