Right,
So I need a bottle, less than 13cm tall to fit in a standard 74mm diameter bottle cage.
Any larger and it will foul the shock,
Any ideas? I've tried a 500ml 'High 5' bottle and that was around 1cm too long.

Try mounting it somewhere else. You can get both seatpost- and bar-mounted bottle cages.
