Seen a few people with toptube bags with a rigid base so when attached with a few washers it doesn't rub the frame. Seems a great idea but not seen any for sale. Anyone know any bags with a rigid base?

The Tailfin ones get good reviews.  I tried one but found the hole spacing a little too close and very nearly stripped the thread on the bolt holes.  I sent it back and they replaced, next one was the same, and I did try in on 2 bikes.

Restrap don't do fully bolt on bags. They have a strap on the steerer tube.

I recently got just what you describe.  It's not a desirable brand and it's from Jeff's mega-mart...  but is stiff enough and can be used with bolts only.  Comes with 3 detachable straps too.

Tailfin. Didn't have any issues with the fit on mine. Went for the very smallest size with zip not flap, to minimise leg-rub!

Tailfin.  Rock solid, no flopping. I have the flip lid version, great to use one handed with full gloves.

I have a Cannondale bag on my Topstone. It has some extra fitting holes in the base as it appears there's more than one "standard" bolt spacing..

I have 2 from Wizard works. They will do any size you would like.

Topeak have a couple of 'fast fuel' bags that are bolt on (+ a headtube / stem strap for more stability).

I've been using these on the road, TT and gravel bike for years (strapped on the road and TT bike, but bolted on for the gravel bike)

100% tailfin, I've not tried another without the head tube brace that doesn't suffer from floppy bag syndrome

I like the Tailfin ones but after something smaller.

They do 3 sizes

Looking for something about 0.5 or 0.6l.

The Tailfin ones are really tall and look silly on smaller frames with low stems.

Brooks Scape, waterproof and a solid quality product.

Liked it enough to go matchy matchy with the bar and frame bag. I see they've expanded the range to bigger bike packing stuff....

Just got one of those from Amazon. Not fit it yet (need to get some washers to raise it off the toptube) but looks perfect.

Get some protection tape and place it on the top tube covering the length of the bag including the mounting holes, pierce the mounting holes with a screwdriver, fit the washers, then fit the bag for max protection
