Just bought some m7000 slx brakes, but when I've come to fit them theres a lip/ledge/bracket which means they have to be positioned a fair way inbound from the grip

I'm running clamp on shifters so had to put them between brake and grip to make it work, which I've never had to do before.

Is this right, or am I missing something and either the"lip" can be removed or I've bought ispec only brakes?

Yours in perplexion...

Nope, that ledge/supprt thing is very much part of the brake. Not I-spec only, but can definitely be a pain

If your brakes have hinged clamps, which I think the do? You can put the shifter in place first then pop the brake on next to it so the the shifter band sits between the brake lever clamp and the little lip bit

Ta, that's what I've done, but just didn't seem right after 30 years of putting them on the other side!

Good to see an actual photo to prove my non-numptyness.

Brakes have moved inboard to facilitate one finger braking
