Hi,

I've recently acquired a carbon road bike and changed the seatpost to a carbon one (a low-cost Omega branded item) but I'm finding the post slips down the frame over the course of a ride (a few hours).

I am quite concerned of tightening the clamp up too tight and damaging the frame/post.

Is there anything I can do to cure this?

tia,
jt 😉

carbon assembly paste. This sort of thing:

Measure the size of the post as I've had carbon posts that were neither the size they should be, parallel or round.

Mine (an Easton EC70 IIRC) should have been 27.2mm dia and varied from 27.0 to 26.4 in dia, out of round by 0.4mm and similar on the parallelism. That wouldn't stay up in a steel or Ti frame which will be probably closer in size and rounder than a carbon frame. I ended up changing it for a Ti one.
