Yep, it doesn't say ‘Slight damage to a couple of rear spokes’ for starters 🙂

Reading comprehension failure!

Although I'd agree it's not slight.

Rear hub drive side endcap is missing

Slight damage on rear rim at the bottom of a couple of spokes

Just tighten the rest up and make it a "feature" designed for vertical compliance.

Could be a cheap pair of Evo hubs with a 40T freewheel I guess.

Front hub is an OE Branded Whyte hub (unless Whyte offer branded Hope stuff like SC do).

Yup but only because the endcap's missing, that's all that keeps it on with Hope.

Asym rims are shite tbh so it's no great loss but it's a nice collection of parts otherwise, stick a proper rim on it and call it good. If he'd post, I'd be watching the auction

ahh bugger, didnt look at the front, assumed it was a hope. Definitely not Hope, probably a Formula or something. Doesnt look like DT Swiss or Novatec.

True, in the process of shortening the quote for the thread title I may have 'slightly' misquoted...

I suppose I thought it interesting that the seller doesn't appear to be hiding it in anyway, but still describes it is 'slight'. as if they genuinely consider that slight damage

Clearly a bit daft if so, but then it also implies my rather paranoia definition of slight damage may be equally biased in the other direction

Spokes/Rims issue aside!

Why don't people clean things before putting them on eBay! Baffles me.

Would you pay more for a set of wheels fit for the bin if they were clean?

Judging by the state of some stuff I’ve bought in the past, it hides the signs of wear. Sometimes letting somene assume ‘it’ll clean up alright’ is better than proving their selling scrap from the back of the shed.
