Hi, just made the move to a 29r. as well as singletrack I do a lot of long distance sportives. I am looking for puncture proof slicks. I am not worried about weight but don't want to lose time fixing punctures. was looking at schwalbe marathon plus 700x 38mm. any comments or suggestions? steve

In old speak you want a touring tyre 🙂

Marathons and their various variation will work but I've never bought a pair as they all ways seem to come up a bit heavy and the side walls are quite thick. Which to me means that they will be draggy. I can't really prove that this is true but its what stopped me buying some. To me they are a commuter tyre or a loaded bike on less good roads tyre

I think most Sportif riders will be on a road bike with a lighter tyre casing than that

I have used panaracer pasela and like them. But I don't think they do a folding version

Continental travel contact 700x42 have always been my first choice for fast road riding on my 29er, they do a 700x37 also.
Never had a puncture riding these.

I live on the Isle of Wight. Main roads are made of potholes and lanes covered in blackthorn. Every event I pass loads of people at the side of the road. That's why I was quite happy doing these on a hardtail, now on a Anthem full susser(as well as only owning one bike, lol). Just want to get to the end, hare and tortoise type thing! Will check out your suggestion. Thanks

I use these in 26" for commuting. Very light, very fast and good puncture resistance.

Schwalbe marathon supreme ride well. I've just ridden 165 miles over two days, mixed on/off road, on some marathon duremes which were surprisingly good. 700x40.

I use kojak on my full sus 29er 700x35 is the only size I could get (bike discount de)

I use the them for road and dry off road aprox 300miles (mainly off road) no punctures yet!

I choose them over the marathon racer as reviews said they run faster and this was my priority

I'm using eclipse tubes at 85psi
