I have a santa cruz chameleon plus with 10mm renthal fatbars fitted . Im around the 5ft 8 mark so by bars are above the saddle height . Im looking at getting the bars lower for a position i find more comfortable.
Ive seen da bomb mp8 but they have no uk stockests ? And i cant find much online about them or the quality of their kit.
So does anybody know of a different stem ? Or about da bomb’s stem / quality ?
Thanks
How long does it need to be? I couldn't find any short (~40mm) stems with more than 10 degrees rise, if guess the same would be true oof 'drop', as you're just flipping them.
Iirc the Renthal ones are about 7 degrees, and that was one of the highest.
Well i have a 50mm -6 on at the moment . So 50-60mm long would be about right
Syntace FlatForce will be the lowest you’ll get, but spendy and not 35mm.
If you are running a slammed stem at -6 degrees, with the bars still higher than your saddle, surely you are on a bike that’s much too big for you? My own bike is borderline too big, but my bars come in a bit lower than my saddle with a +6 angle, 20mm bars, and 13mm of spacers.
Maybe you need a flat bar. If you shorten the stem you will lose some of that -ve drop. So you need to stay at 50 unless it’s too long. Maybe you need a +/- 10 stem run inverted.
The bike fits well, Plenty of seat post ,stem of 50mm feels good . Id just like a more aggressive bar hight .
More of a xc position i supose .
Da bomb stem is the only -17 50mm long 35mm bars stem i can find .
But what is da bomb like ? Good ? Cheep ? Rubbish ?
I did wonder if you can run a dmr defy stem upside down ?
Have you tried flipping the bars so they're drop bars instead of risers?
