Well I like it. Pikes went on a few months back now, Slik graphics just applied. Saddle was replaced with a Charge Scoop after a ham fisted manual attempt destroyed the SDG. Just changed it to 1x10, got a OneUp 42T sprocket on order. Just put second hand 780mm Fatbars and 70mm Haven stem on. Might even ride it soon. Just got to change the grey gear outer for a black one....

Anyway, real reason for posting; that's the neighbour's mismatched and not toothed in wall, shall I whitewash it?
Looks nice, and IMHO Turners always ride better than they look, so should be a winer.
That wall is a dogs dinner though!
ps - where did you find the sun???
I'm sure someone on here could design you a big mural to cover the wall up.
Bikes nice BTW.
Came out for a good half hour, long enough to do some crap wheelies up and down the road! Feels great with the shorter stem and wider bars. Looks about ready to hose it down again now though.
Jebus you've dropped some wedge on that bike these last few months.
Mines in bits waiting for a push pivot rebuild, 1x10 transmission conversion and some pikes. I've also robbed it's wheels for the hardtail.
You should white wash the wall by the way.
True but I got some sort of discount on everything. Except the RWC shock bearing. Also put a high volume spacer in the RP23, sold the other two on for half what I paid for the kit. Let me know what you think of the PUSH pivots, will consider some when the factory ones wear out
It'll be a while. Not planning on putting it all together until march April time, when I too will have a one up 42t sprocket, and probably some lightbike carbon rimmed pro2s.
Nice, if I was in the market for new hoops I'd be looking at them too. Money these E13s cost they need to last me a few years yet though!
I'm sure I've said it before but the Pikes transform the bike BTW
looks lovely that, have you considered mounting the shock the other way up?
Looks like you may get a little cable rub on the station (can't think of the shock name for the kashima'd bit) where as a bit of rub on the air can would not be as bad or costly to replace down the line.
Been like that for a year with no probs, photos make the cable look closer to the shock than it is
It's hard to tell from the picture, but there's a fair bit of lateral clearance from the shock.
You got that saddle far back enough?
I believe I have, yes.
Nice, elevated chainstays always look a bit naff, unless on a Turner.
Make sure you post up what you think of the OneUp 42t when you've used it, I'm pretty interested and I guess a lot of others will be to.
Will do, think a few on here already have them? Mine is due end of Feb

Cool cool, just didn't want tears before bed time.
Dave, are you finding a load of chain slap with the smaller front ring and the long back end?
I'm thinking with the one up 42t sprocket theres going to be an awful lot of chain back there.
Your bike looks rather lovely and some nice bits on it too, no doubt a fun ride.
As for the wall, some re-pointing here and there and, if you are going to cover it with anything, a Limewash is the way to go.
Blooming heck, have Sultan's been around long enough to need revamping? Still slumming it on my Horst 5 Spot! Lovely looking bike, though you're right, it is a bit dark, go ahead and whitewash it. 🙂
I want a Turner. One that'll be as light and do everything as my ASR5 - except that its a Turner.
Thats look nice BTW.
The Sultan isn't that light really. Until they make a carbon one anyway.
I think the Horst sultan was released in 2007, so they've been around for a bit now.
I'd be after a 27.5 Flux.
Wonder if the 27.5 is as good as the 26 or if the extra travel and slacker angles make it too much of a trail bike?
SO - nope, the opposite! Have only had it out for one ride but the silence was deafening. Was running a triple with the long cage shadow+ mech that's on there now, also running the Csixx chainstay protector that MBR raved about but was always disappointed with the amount of chain slap. I have left the chain the same length which was just long enough for 42F 36R figuring there won't be much difference to 34F 42R.
All you can hear is the tyres on the ground, suspension loading and unloading and the freewheel (which has gone from noisiest thing ever to nearly silent since Silverfish rebuilt it! Bet they used grease instead of the E13 recommended oil). Even bunnyhopping roots and landing on more roots didn't produce a noise. This I love more than anything, I've also cable tied the hoses so they don't slap, the bike just feels so solid now. Regardless of any gearing range issues I think I'll find it near impossible to go back to a front mech and no narrow/wide just because of the lack of noise. Might yet go to a medium cage mech though, black XT would look good and a mate off here owes me a favour for rewiring his kitchen. Hi Will!
Rickon - have had these on my ebay watch list for some time now but they don't come up in the right size often. Am happier with my RP23 with the volume spacer and RWC bearing but still room for improvement, the Pikes definitely outclass the rear suspension performance. And I thought I'd finished tinkering....
Hmmm just got Pikes to go on my 2011 Sultan to replace Rev dual postions so glad to hear continued positive reports. What's an RWC bearing please and what's the benefit? Thanks

RWC bearing replaces rear shock bush, makes a slight difference to plushness although I'm not convinced that it's not a placebo effect. High volume spacer makes a much bigger difference.
Your Sultan does remind me of my Spot...

Dave - give Jtech a call. James sorted me out my RC3 plus for a very good price. And tuned it in the same cost.
Trying to stop spending money on it! Define "very good" please - email in profile....
Thanks davosaurusrex. Maybe one for when the existing bushes wear. I'll look into the high volume spacer. They really are a great bike. Just sold my Anthem as even though more suited to my southern riding it just doesn't make me grin as much as the Sultan 😀 Good build yours. Pretty close to where I'm going with my third version of mine!
