Just gone from 1x10 to 2x10 on my spitty for a couple of lakes rides I've got planned.

Chain length is correct but when on small/small and the next couple of gears up the cassette the chain is slack. If I wind the b screw in all the way the slack is removed. When the shock is fully compressed and on big/big there is still room for the mech to move so would I be right in saying this should be ok?

With the screw wound all the way in shifting is still smooth.

I know people will say don't run small/small etc but I always thought one of the advantages of x2 and x1 was that you could use all of the cassette? Running 36/24 upfront with a 11/36 cassette. Rear mech is a GS xt clutch. Think I'm 1 'cog' over its capacity?

Am I ok leaving the b screw wound all the way in or will this cause problems elsewhere?

Thanks.

In 2x I'd normally not use small x small still. If the rest is working well stick with the set-up and just avoid the crossed gears.

Wouldn't purposely cross gear but the last thing on my mind on long climbs are my gears! Will have to start paying more attention.

Will give it a run out and see how it goes, thanks!
