Got a 2017 Camber 29er just now and whilst its awesome i'm thinking about something a wee bit slacker. The Whyte S120 looks the part but can anyone recommend anything else? The Transition Smuggler looks good but is limited to 2.3s on the back and i kind of like a slightly wider tyre. Got a Hans Dampf just now on the Camber.

Could just fit an angleset to the Camber. Its the same frame as the stumpjumper of that year so can handle a longer fork and thus different headtube angle but you know how it is.....

I had a Camber Evo 29er and went to an Evil Following for exactly those reasons.

Giant Trance 29er or Swarf Contour and Starling for a bit left field.
I know Starling have the Murmor at 140mm travel but I have been told they could make a short travel one on request.

Another recommendation for Cotic’s FlareMAX. I used to have a FlareMAX (swapped to the RocketMAX).  After trying my FlareMAX, my OH swapped her top spec Camber Evo 29 for a Cotic, and finds it way more confidence inspiring than the Camber. We haven’t sold the Camber yet, as it fits me:))

The geometry on the latest generation ‘longshot’ Cotics is very different to the Camber, and they take a bit more ‘body English’ on flowy trail centre type terrain - fantastic for fast descending through rough rocky trails though - and there’s always the option of going for the next frame size down if you want a more playful feeling bike.

Angleset worth a try before you chop the whole bike in?

Will maybe try an angleset first. Didn't know about Starling possibly making the Murmur in 120mm guise. That's def interesting. Good few other suggestions as well, thanks.

Anyone got the Whyte S120?

Don’t poke make a short travel mega slack type of affair?
Flaremax was crazy good. Ended up on a rocketmax but was blown away by how good the flaremax was

I’m on record (multiple times) as loving the FlsreMax, but as you can see there are lots of options. Just pick whichever looks best to you as I’m sure they’re all great.

What is classed as slack these days? I tried am S120 but couldn’t get on with it, but my mate loves it.

I went for a Trek Fuel instead which is 67.7 so probably not classed as slack I guess. You can change the mino link to the low position which makes it more slack but not by much I don’t think.
