Off to fort William mid may and then looking to head over to Skye for a couple of days riding.  Probably staying in the Wigwams at Portree as that is only place available.  Any suggestions please for 15 -35km single track rides.  Don’t mind a bit of hike a bike but want plenty of flow downhill as well.  Thanks in advance.

two only two Skye relevant rides I have done -

Sligachan - Camasunary, out and back, the water bars make it a bit tough, the path is relatively good, the scenery on a god day is fantastic. Very little hike a bike on the obvious route, not sure about the flow near the start or the downhill either.

Can Ban - on Raasay - foot ferry over, road up the island, up and over, make a loop of it, can also head round by the mines towards Hallaig. Again it's not made trails, there is some flow but it's not all out downhill.

You're in the wrong place for what you want.

What he said! Wrong place .

There is a fantastic loop on the mainland by morvich/5 sisters which is nice (if you ignore the bog push before the last ascent/descent).

I have done Sligachan over to the bad step and back .Tough route .I loved it but doubt others would .Looks great on the photos thoug.

Could alway go to Uig and do some of the qurrang of you are desperate to ride on skye .

Thanks for advice.  Perhaps mis-led the thread.  Want to be able to get out there on an decent XC ride that isn’t stop start over unrideable bog / bolder fields and has significant grin factor.  May also look at Torridon options.
